I have played Lewis Estates Golf Course a few times in the past, usually with our grandsons, Teague and Drew, who happened to be in Edmonton when we visited from abroad over the summer. The last time I remember playing there, Brenda and I were still working in Switzerland at Leysin American School. In those days, there was constant road construction to allow for the "estates" development. The bulk of it is now in place and the course has never been in better shape.
While playing the front nine I was afraid I would not run into much wildlife. I had seen some dragonflies on the greens but was unable to snap any decent pictures of the little guys. However, things turned out quite differently on the back nine where we were invaded by Canada geese. We litterally had to chase them off certain greens to be able to putt. They are indeed a pest on golf courses but it is hard not to love them anyway. So here they are, in all their splendour!!!
